Another great list!
Thank you, Alex!
Thanks, Elizabeth, for these terrific links. I always learn every time I visit! This time, I was drawn to the link about writing first and editing later. It’s advice I give my own students, and it really is good advice. And yet, I sometimes find myself not following it when I’m doing my own writing. I see a sentence, or a scene, etc., and as soon as I’ve written it, I want to fix it. Talk about ‘physician, heal thyself!’ I’ve found it can help to set aside certain writing time for certain things (‘OK, today is an editing day,’ or ‘OK, today I’ll do a first draft of ___.’).
I can see where it would be a lot easier to give that advice than to follow it! Great idea to set aside specific days for particular purposes. :)
Another wonderful list, Elizabeth. Thank you!
