The Top Writing Links From Last Week Are On Twitterific: Share on X
These are always such useful links, Elizabeth! I learn every time I’m here. And this time, I saw the one about the importance of word count. I’m always so torn about that, too. I know some people swear by word count as the way to keep track of their writing progress. And of course lots of publishers have word count parameters. But at the same time, I’ve read articles that suggest that word count can limit the writer, too. It’s hard to know how to make the best use of word count, but it’s definitely something we have to keep in mind!
I’m a word count tracker, but I think others do better with just tracking the amount of time spent writing each day. :) And you’re right–independent publishers don’t have to worry about word count quite as much as long as it’s within normal genre parameters.
