Such great links, Elizabeth, as always! I especially noticed the one on backstory this time. That can be so tricky, can't it? You want to make the characters real for readers, and even weave that backstory together with the plot. But readers don't necessarily want to know what the character had for breakfast every morning of the fifth grade. Striking that balance can be tough.
So very true! It’s like we’re feeding the backstory in a bit at a time and being judicious about what to share.
