Elizabeth – What a lovely, lovely site!! Welcome to WordPress and I hope you’ll enjoy it. I know I do. Thanks also very kindly for the mentions, and thanks for these links!
Thanks, Margot! The blogging bit is definitely an adjustment here, but hopefully I’ll get the swing of it soon. I’ve had WordPress for my website, but the blogging is a whole other thing!
Wow, look at your new site!! This is awesome. So professional.
And I made your Twitter list with a writing tip article. Hope it’s not a sign of the apocalypse…
Alex–A great post from you! You should do more craft posts. :)
Congratulations on your new WordPress blog! Great look and wonderful content as always!
Thanks, Heather! :)
Just a thought. If you install Akismet on your blog, it will take care of any spam and you won’t have to ask the people who want to post a comment to take the extra step of answering the “human” question. So far in 2013, Akismet has blocked nearly 2500 spam comments from my website. They missed 1 in all that time, and Akismet is free with WordPress.
Thanks for the tip! I’ve got Akismet on there and right now I’ve got a “Capcha” thing–but it should only be for the first time someone comments and then lets them go after that. Y’all let me know if that’s working and it’s only the first time you comment….it would be very annoying if it continued, I know!
Yes, Akismet is excellent. It is also technically free only for personal sites. Commercial sites — which is how I categorize an author site — they require a commercial license, something like $5 a month or thereabouts if memory serves.
ees
Just wanted to say thank you so much for the link to our site. That particular article meant a lot to us, and your post has made us aware of Writer’s Knowledge Base! Win-win! Thanks again :)
