Authors should never pay for a booth at Book Expo. The ones under $3000 are in the red-headed step-child section – no one will find them. Plus publishers are expected to give away a lot of books, so it will cost even more. Even for small publishers, it’s not worth it.
Diane–I’ve heard most publishers, editors, and agents aren’t exactly walking around looking for talent at the booths, either. Hope you have a good week!
